Earth pyramids
On the 9th kilometre of the old road to Miljevina and Sarajevo, on the right side in the place called Pirni Do, you can come across ‘earth pyramids’. It is a small natural wonder. Namely, for hundreds of years winds, rain, snow, heavy frost and summer heat were rinsing, drying, blowing and strengthening the earth pyramids, similar to those in Colorado or Devil’s Town in Serbia, to make them in their natural shape.
This natural process is still ongoing. The documents and writings from 1936 compiled by scientist and travel writer Dragutin Deroko prove that these pyramids are several centuries old. In 1960s, the place was set of two Yugoslav films.
