Ledena pećina (Ice Cave)

Ledena pećina (Ice Cave) is 15 km away from Ribnik, more precisely in the place called Vučija poljana (Wolf’s field). The interior of the cave has not yet been sufficiently explored and also presents an interesting speleological phenomenon. The cave is located at an altitude of over 1200 m and is surrounded by lush evergreen forests.

It was named because of the large amount of rainfall, which are collected in the cave during the winter months and which freeze due to low temperatures. These amounts of ice and snow in the interior of caves may survive even during the summer months.
