Catholic Cathedral of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary

In 1984, the 1000th anniversary was celebrated the Trebinje-Mrkan Diocese, the first mentioning of which was found in the Bull of Benedict VIII (1012-1024) issued on 27/09/1022. During its long existence, the diocese has gone through various difficulties whose causes were of political and social nature. A small church in honour of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Trebinje was consecrated and celebrated as a cathedral on May 31, 1984.

Church of St. Climent Mostaći
The Church of  St. Climent, popularly known as ‘Klimentica’, a typical Mediterranean stone medieval churche, located on the right side of the Trebišnjica, in the village of Mostaći. It is considered one of the oldest churches in the area. This church is famous for its paintings to decorate the walls, from top to bottom. The décor of the church, along with other important churches from the period of the Turkish occupation of our regions, has a great value as a cultural and historical monument.
