Modriča
Modriča municipality is located in the north of the Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the area of 297 km2. It is located about 30 km away from the Belgrade – Zagreb highway and has a good road connection with both cities. A route of the Budapest – Osijek – Sarajevo – the Adriatic Sea highway, now known as Corridor 5C, is planned to be passing through Modriča municipality. The town is located on the right bank of the river Bosna about 20 km from its confluence with the River Sava.
The central part of the city is Svetosavska Street, which is the main pedestrian zone about 300m long, with various shops, craft shops, cafés and restaurants. Century-old hackberry trees make this street an alley, the favorite promenade of Modriča citizens.
In Modrica, we can we find a rare natural heritage, a compound of mutually intersecting hills and plains. On one side there are slopes of Balkan Dinarides embodied in mountainous terrains of Trebava and Vučjak, and on the other the Pannonian plain, i.e. Posavina plain.
