Jezero (Lake) in Pelagićevo
One of the greatest gems of Pelagićevo is Jezero (Lake) located in the northern part of municipality. The popular name of the lake is “Diplomatic Lake,” which was given in the former Yugoslavia since the most frequent visitors to the lake were people from the political leadership.
This attractive destination is a paradise for lovers of sport fishing and recreation in nature. The lake abounds with many species of fish, especially carp. During the year, a series of sport fishing competitions at national as well as international level are organised at the lake. Since 2005, the traditional “CARP CUP” Pelagićevo-international competition has taken place here, with participation of fishermen from different parts of Europe, including competitors from England, Germany, Italy, France and many other countries, as well as athletes from BiH and the region.
