In the north of the Republic of Srpska, forty kilometers from the Croatian border, lies the municipality of Laktaši, which extends on both sides of the Vrbas river, downstream of Banja Luka. The largest part of the land on the left side of the Vrbas River, is located on the slopes of the Kozara Mountain. The central part of the municipality is dominated by plains and fertile fields of Lijevce.
The administrative and cultural centre of the municipality is the town of Laktasi, a nice town with about 5,000 inhabitants. All important administrative and cultural institutions are located in the town, as well as the famous Laktasi Spa, located in the very town centre. There are two spas in this municipality out of the total of nine spas in the Republic of Srpska. Laktasi Spa and Slatina Spa, with a tradition that dates back to Roman times, are widely known for their healing properties.
It is often said for Laktasi that it is the biggest little town in the world, because, in Laktasi, you can find almost everything you could in many large cities.
Therefore, come and meet Laktasi, you will not go wrong.
